For when you need to get well and stay well.
Dr. Katherine Schafer’s caseload is presently full and she is accepting patients onto her waitlist.
Trauma can change the way you experience yourself, other people, and the world around you. It may leave you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or constantly on guard. Even years after a difficult experience, trauma can continue to affect relationships, work, sleep, confidence, and the ability to fully engage in life. Many people begin to wonder if they will ever feel like themselves again.
The good news is that healing is possible. Therapy provides a space to better understand how trauma has shaped your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while helping you develop new ways of responding to life's challenges. Recovery is not about simply getting through each day. It is about reclaiming a sense of safety, purpose, and connection so that you can build a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.
At Schafer Psychology, the goal is simple: for you to get well and stay well. Using evidence-based treatments supported by decades of scientific research, therapy is tailored to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Whether you are struggling with PTSD, anxiety, OCD, or the lasting effects of difficult life experiences, treatment is designed to create meaningful, lasting change, not just temporary symptom relief.
Through a fully virtual practice, Dr. Katherine Schafer provides psychological services to adults across Tennessee. All services begin with a free 15-minute consultation.
